Consigning a Dress

1) How do I price my dress?

We recommend pricing your dress at 40-80% off the original retail price. The most popular dresses are those that are priced under $1,000. The lower the price, the better chance of selling it.

2) If my dress doesn’t sell what happens?

You will need to pick up your dress between 3.30-4.30pm on the day of the event. Any dress not collected will be donated to The Bride’s Project in Toronto.

3) How much will I make if my dress sells?

If your dress sells, you will receive 70% of the selling price minus any credit card processing fees (approx 3%). Most consignment vendors charge 50%.

4) What will be done to prevent my dress from getting damaged whilst trying it on?

We have found that attending brides are very courteous and careful with the dresses, however, we definitely take precautions to help reduce wear and tear.

There are attendants overseeing the movement of the dresses, fitting room attendants in the change rooms, and we also post signage asking Brides to take extra special care while trying on the dresses.

That said, multiple Brides may be trying on your dress and walking around in it so there is a chance that your dress may be exposed to minimal wear and tear.  Our track record is excellent though!

5) Is there a fee to register my dress?

Yes there is a small fee of $6+hst to cover the administration costs of running the consignment area. The registration of dresses close 3 days before the event so we have time to do all the administrative tasks that we need too.

6) Do you accept dresses on the day if we haven’t registered them?

Unfortunately, we do not. There is too much administration before the event to make this possible.

7) Does my dress have to be new?

We prefer dresses that are 5 years old or under
